Sauchiehall Street line drawing

From 1995-2000, I lived in Elmbank St, Glasgow and decided to draw the length of the north side of Sauchiehall St. with zero plan as to what to do with it. It required a rather big wall.

Long story short, if I could draw another 1.5 metres it had a home in the Easyjet departures corridor of Glasgow Airport. The orange windows were a happy coincidence. They paid me a fee but it was always mine. That was the deal anyway, and despite the then manager leaving, they stood by that deal, and 10 years later, they gave me it back.

It’s been in my loft ever since. As you can imagine, most of the shoaps have long gone, so it’s a great heritage piece as well as being a massive, big, continuous line drawing.
