The worlds oldest surviving music hall. Built in 1857, the Britannia Panopticon stands as testament to Glasgow’s bawdy, saucy and lewd entertainment history.

This was originally commissioned by @glasgowheritage for their Christmas card a number of years ago. It was renamed Britannia Panopticon (Latin – see everything) by the eccentric millionaire AE Pickard due to the diverse nature of the shows on offer. He lived and died at 998 Great Western Rd. I walk past it with the dog most mornings. It’s been empty for years but all the rooms are lit up in a very spooky red hue!
