“A distillery a day” #151 Ardgowan (Lowland) 2025 Ardgowan Distillery Company Limited Built on the site of Ardgowan Farm and named after the former Greenock distillery of the same name. It’s already been nicknamed The Whisky Cathedral. You can see why. They have spent millions on specially designed 700 litre (anything more would be illegal afterall) infinity sherry casks to mature their whisky. This is no quick fix but they’ve already filled their first cask that sits in their onsite warehouse. The remaining farm buildings are intended as visitor accomodation and possibly a restaurant.
