“Scotland’s Distilleries – An illustrated tour of Scotland and its whisky” is a personal view of all the malt whisky distilleries currently in production and intertwines personal anecdotes and various unusual or unknown facts about each distillery as much as the surrounding towns and villages they are found in. These facts are only touched on and is intended to encourage the reader to look further into the story associated with the distillery. The book would comprise of 6 different regions, Highland, Lowland, Speyside, Campbeltown, Islay and Island (controversial I know!) The distillery image will sit on the right hand page with a short paragraph or two on the opposite.

Scotland’s Distilleries shifts focus from individual whiskies to Scotland’s broader tourism, with whisky at its core. It places whisky at the centre of a wider examination of regional tourism, to reach recognised bars and hotels worldwide, and to engage whisky aficionados and collectors alike. The work is not a pocket guide. It will be a hardback format of roughly 340 pages, 250×250 mm, using 130 gsm matt art paper to showcase high-resolution scans of the distillery paintings. The four-color process will be treated with anti-scratch lamination and have a flat back spine, and it will come presented in a hardback box printed in my own McMurchie tartan designed by Brian Halley of Slanj Kilts.
